STOCKTON — Rick Fernandes quickly realized there was nothing he could do to help the motorist who was killed in a collision outside his business Wednesday afternoon, but he helped authorities catch the driver who tried to flee the scene.Fernandes, the 63-year-old owner of Allied Tile and Stone, ran outside when he heard the sickening sound of the collision about 12:15 p.m.
