Mayor Martin J. Walsh is spending nearly $3,000 on seven cigarette-butt receptacles that will be placed in high foot traffic areas around the city to rid the streets of litter.The Neat Streets program strategically places the boxes — made in Cambridge at a cost of $421 a piece — in busy locations with fun poll questions taped to them to let smokers vote with their cigarette butts.
