Developer Ghost Games briefly touched on Need for Speed Payback’s newly-added abandoned vehicles system, or ‘Derelicts’, during the reveal of the game in early June. Following the release of today’s brief customisation trailer we’ve learned more about the concept. Parallels were drawn instantly between Payback’s derelicts and the hidden car systems previously featured in the likes of Test Drive Unlimited, Forza Horizon, and subsequently The Crew, but Need for Speed Payback associate art director Bryn Alban explained to IGN that Ghost has added additional layers to its take on abandoned cars.
