CITY OF NEWBURGH – The Newburgh City Council will vote Monday on a resolution censuring Councilman Omari Shakur for his conduct during a recent confrontation with city police. The resolution, which was posted on the city’s website, says Shakur "engaged in a wholly inappropriate interaction with members of the City of Newburgh police" when he was stopped and given a summons for a traffic infraction on Carpenter Avenue shortly after noon on Feb.
