Nuggets coach Michael Malone said he and his staff were pleased to see the conclusions of an independent investigation which found Aurora police officers made substantial errors during their fatal interaction with Elijah McClain in August of 2019. On what would’ve been Elijah McClain’s 25th birthday Thursday, Malone spoke passionately about McClain, who he honored in the Orlando “Bubble” by wearing shirts demanding justice in his death. Malone, who spoke with McClain’s dad when the Nuggets were in Orlando, has kept up with McClain’s lawyer, Mari Newman, in the months since.
