During a Wednesday meeting, an Oklahoma City official told commissioners the city had received a permit request from The Movement, a local activist group, to paint the mural on a small wall several feet away from the jail. Since the county owns the jail, commissioners must decide if they will allow the mural before a months-long permitting process through Oklahoma City’s government begins. Commissioner Carrie Blumert said she was very much in support of the mural. “It certainly does not mean that other lives do not matter,” Blumert said.Read more on NewsOK.com
