When rolling, the $50,000 custom-made cruiser hits a top speed of 25 mph and might be mistaken for a small box truck powered by a golf cart. [...] he contacted All a Cart, the East Side builder, which fitted a vehicle— normally used to serve burritos or ice cream —with bookshelves, storage space and collapsible doors that pop out when it arrives. [...] checkout, issuing library cards, even answering reference questions are handled at a foldout table by Eileen McNeil, the library's youth-services manager.
