Profootballtalk.com, an NBC enterprise, has posted that former Ole Miss star Robert Nkemdiche will miss roughly two weeks of the Arizona Cardinals’ camp while recovering from a high angle sprain. Cardinals coach Bruce Arians made the announcement to the media today. Nkemdiche was picked No. 29 overall by Arizona in April. Once a projected top five pick Nkemdiche’s off-field issues caused him to slide from that lofty perch, but many believe his flamboyance makes him a good fit for the Cardinals. One of Arizona’s young stars is former LSU defensive back Tyrann Mathieu, who like Nkemdiche transitioned to the NFL with a trail of baggage. Mathieu has become, according to some reports, a “model citizen.” The growth he has shown has been attributed in large part to the team atmosphere created by Cardinals coach Bruce Arians. So it’s possibly a best-scenario match for Nkemdiche once he gets back on the field.
