It wouldn’t be surprising if some who have seen the trailers, or are aware of the premise, would dismiss Searching right away because of how gimmicky it is, but I urge them not to do so. Yes, the story has been told before - David Kim (John Cho) goes on a frantic quest to find his missing daughter Margot (Michelle La), with the help of a no-nonsense cop (Debra Messing).
