By Max Garland It hasn't taken Smooth Ambler Spirits long to gain a national following. The Greenbrier County distiller, founded in 2009, produces Old Scout Single Barrel Bourbon, Smooth Ambler Contradiction Bourbon and a variety of other spirits. Its products are currently available in 33 states and eight overseas markets, and those numbers are expected to jump now that it's under the wing of French wine and spirits giant Pernod Ricard. "They have really enabled us to just do what we know how to do: make spirits," Smooth Ambler CEO John Little said of Pernod Ricard acquiring a majority stake of the company, which was announced in December.
