STAMFORD-A city man was charged early Friday morning with stealing a car at an East Side gas station and ditching the vehicle less than a block away, police said. Sgt. Kelly Connelly said a car owner pulled up to a gas pump at Gulf Express at 1125 East Main Street just after midnight and walked into the convenience store. A witness told police that he saw a Hispanic man with tattoos on his neck walk up to a trash can next to the car and throw away two license plates.
