Violating the rule could result in fines. But amendments to Senate Bill 65 that were worked out by lawmakers downgraded it from a primary offense — meaning law enforcement will have to observe it in combination with another traffic violation to pull offending drivers over. Still, Polis praised the bill before signing it.

Atlanta — An appeals court has halted the Georgia election interference case against former President Donald Trump and others while it reviews the lower court judge’s ruling allowing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to remain on the case. The Georgia Court of Appeals’ order on Wednesday prevents Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee from moving forward with pretrial motions as he had planned while the appeal is pending.

Coloradans will need eight hours of in-person training from a verified instructor to qualify for a concealed-carry permit under a new law. Gov. Jared Polis signed House Bill 1174 on Tuesday. It was part of a slew of bills dealing with firearm regulations passed by the legislature this year. The in-person training requirement includes passing a live-fire exercise and a written exam.
