Katie Couric’s triumphant return to daytime TV Monday snagged the biggest ratings for a syndicated talk show launch in a decade. 
The “Katie” unveiling tied “Dr. Phil’s” premiere back in September of 2002 and --  because we know you’re going to ask – there have been 25 daytime talk show debuts since the unveiling of “Dr. Phil.”

As the Democratic convention came to a close, 35.7 million people watched President Obama make his case for a second term... By comparison, Mitt Romney's speech accepting the GOP nomination on Aug. 30 drew an audience of about 30.3 million TV viewers, according to Nielsen.

Ann Romney and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie proved to be an attractive TV draw at the Republican National Convention. An estimated 22.3 million people tuned in to watch the first full night of the GOP convention last night, according to Nielsen, the ratings company. That was an increase of 800,000 viewers on the same night of coverage four years ago in St. Paul, Nielsen said.

CBS has dropped its lawsuit against ABC over its reality series "The Glass House," citing the show's low viewership numbers as a reason it is no longer interested in the case.
