Ousted “American Idol” hopeful Chris Medina may be out of the running for a spot in the hit show’s Top 24, but the journey of the aspiring singer with an inspiring story is far from over, as he is heading to the “Tonight Show” Friday.

The show may have been light on drama Thursday night, but once again, Ashley Sullivan delivered plenty of tears.

Wednesday had no shortage of meltdowns, but surprisingly, the younger singers actually held up pretty well while the biggest freak out came from a 26-year-old.

The show brought about twice as many singers to Hollywood as it has in the past, so the first two days there were devoted to getting rid of the folks who shouldn’t have advanced in the first place.

The new crew looks like it will do two things: have more fun than the group did a year ago, and keep the Fox lawyers up at night worrying that Steven Tyler will do something that gets the network sued.

Fox says Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler will be joining Randy Jackson as "American Idol" judges.

Kara Dioguardi is officially out, and Jennifer Lopez is reportedly the new judge on FOX’s “American Idol.”

According to TMZ, Lopez has finally inked a one-year contract with the show for “a little more than $12 million” and is expected to join the judging panel as soon as next week, just in time for auditions.

A new lineup of judges has yet to be announced, with Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez the reported front-runners.

"American Idol" producers are pursuing country star Shania Twain as a possible judge for the TV competition, according to a source with knowledge of the negotiations.

The singer was rumored to be close to finishing a deal, but according to People.com, she's out. “Her demands got out of hand,” a source told the magazine. “Fox had just had enough.”
