FX orders 90 more episodes of 'Anger Management'

FX is ordering 90 more episodes of "Anger Management," Charlie Sheen's TV comeback vehicle after being fired from "Two and a Half Men." The unusually large order reflects the original agreement that FX made for the sitcom that stars Sheen as a therapist.

FX telecasts the final episode on its initial 10-episode order of Charlie Sheen’s comedy “Anger Management” tonight, after which the network will announce whether the show hit the ratings threshold under which the network is obligated to order 90 additional episodes, per its contract with Lionsgate, which produces the show.

Charlie Sheen says he's not insane anymore. Instead, these are good days for the "Anger Management" star, he declares, with his FX sitcom half-way through its initial 10-episode run and poised to get an order for 90 more. Sheen told reporters Saturday that the prospect of continuing is as "exciting as hell," and added cheerily, "I don't think 90's gonna be enough."

The odds are "overwhelming" that FX Network will purchase an additional 90 episodes of Charlie Sheen's new comedy "Anger Management," the channel's president said Saturday.

Anger Management ranked as cable’s most-watched primetime scripted comedy series premiere in total viewers and 18-49, eclipsing Tyler Perry’s House Of Payne on TBS, which opened with a 5.2 million. Like House Of Payne, which grew to 5.8 million for the second episode of its two-episode premiere, Anger Management gained too, averaging 5.74 million total viewers and 2.89 million adults 18-49s for its 9:30 PM episode.
