US “Six Strikes” Anti-Piracy Scheme Will Roll Out Gradually

More than a year after the MPAA and RIAA announced their groundbreaking anti-piracy deal with U.S. Internet providers, the first warning letters are yet to be sent out. Previously, July 2012 was coined as the start date but the responsible parties are still not ready to launch. While TorrentFreak has learned that various ISPs will start the implementation at different times, it remains a mystery which company will be spying on filesharers.

 

Court Orders ISP To Block Grooveshark

A group of more than 30 rightsholders have won their case targeted against Grooveshark in Denmark. A court agreed that both the streaming music service and its users infringe recording label copyrights and granted an injunction forcing an ISP to initiate a block of the service. The anti-piracy group behind the action hopes that other ISPs will now follow suit.

 

More ISPs asked to block Newzbin2

The movie industry is widening its anti-piracy net as it asks Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk to block Newzbin2.
