Fire danger raised to 'very high' in Angeles National Forest

The U.S. Forest Service is warning that fire danger in the Angeles National Forest is being moved up a notch from "high" to "very high" over the Labor Day weekend as extreme heat is expected to return to the region.

Wildfire burns 35,000 acres; shift in winds threatens more homes

An out-of-control wildfire in the Angeles National Forest has burned more than 35,000 acres and is threatening an ever-widening swath of communities from Acton near the Antelope Valley to Altadena in the San Gabriel Valley.
