Media Decoder: New Editor for a Shrinking Washington Post

Marcus Brauchli, hired in 2008 after working at The Wall Street Journal, is stepping down as editor and will be replaced by Martin Baron of The Boston Globe.

 

USA Today Picks New Editor

USA Today named David Callaway, who had been the top editor at MarketWatch since 2000, as its new editor. At the paper, he rejoins Larry Kramer, founder of MarketWatch, who in May was named publisher of USA Today.

N.Y. Times to Get First Female Executive Editor

The executive editor of The New York Times is stepping down after eight years on the job. The Times announced Thursday that Bill Keller is leaving the post to return to writing. He will be replaced by Jill Abramson, formerly one of his top deputies.
