Restore Our Future, Pro-Romney Super PAC, Attacks Obama's Economic Record In Radio Ad

Restore Our Future, the super PAC backing Mitt Romney, released a new radio ad Friday knocking President Barack Obama for his handling of the economy and calling into question the Obama campaign's repeated attacks on Romney and Bain Capital. The new spot, titled "Imagine," is part of a $1 million radio ad campaign and will air from July 27 to Aug. 2 across swing states Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

 

In Obama's Hometown, Billionaire Support Favors GOP

It may be the president’s turf, but Chicago is also Mitt Romney’s kind of town. Two Illinois billionaires have donated a combined $1.1 million to Restore Our Future, the super PAC supporting Romney’s presidential campaign. Hedge funder Kenneth Griffin has given $1,050,000 and real estate baron Sam Zell has given $100,000. Both men also contributed to American Crossroads, the super PAC founded by Republican strategist Karl Rove. Griffin has given $1 million since August and Zell has contributed $100,000. Griffin also sent $440,000 to the Republican Governors Association this year.

December 2011 was a busy month for supporters of presidential candidate Newt Gingrich. The former speaker of the House had surged ahead of his Republican rivals in several polls. Suddenly he was being barraged by negative TV ads produced by Restore Our Future, a Super PAC for rival candidate Mitt Romney.

An independent group backing Republican Mitt Romney is spending nearly $4 million on ads in nine battleground states. An organization that tracks TV spending by political campaigns says the Romney-aligned Restore Our Future has bought television ad time in Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Colorado, Nevada, Virginia and New Hampshire.
