Stan Yee Memorial late model race postponed at Flat Rock Speedway

FLAT ROCK >> Flat Rock Speedway's signature race was put on hold for a week.The Moran Chevrolet Stan Yee Memorial 150 was postponed Saturday night because of rain. The final ARCA Late Model Gold Cup Series event of the season will be made up July 28, track officials said.Clinton Township resident Stan Yee Jr.

 

Masked man creates disturbance at Patridge Creek concert

A masked man commanded the stage and created a disturbance Friday evening at a music show at Partridge Creek mall in Clinton Township.The man, wearing a white mask and holding a megaphone, jumped onto the stage during a performance as part of the mall's Summer Sounds Concert Series, forcing musicians to stop and resulting in on-stage tussle before the man jumped from the stage and ran away.

Chesterfield Township Library• "Storytime in the Park" 12:30-1:15 p.m. July 24 in Brandenburg Park, 50050 Jefferson Avenue. Preschool and school age children accompanied by a caregiver are invited to this drop in program. The event is free, but there is a park entry fee. Stories will be followed by a craft.

Haven Place seeks volunteers to help with gardens

Haven Place, located at 58575 Main Street, New Haven, is seeking volunteers willing to come once a week to weed various gardens. Areas include box gardens, areas along the side of the building and across the street at Haven Place Park. Those that wish to help can come anytime whether Haven Place is open or not, bring their kneeling pad, shovel, gloves and spend some time weeding.
