IOWA CITY — After condemning the Iowa City Council last week for their plans to temporarily suspend the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Raneem Hamad has resigned from the commission.

The name Wanatee Creek is now official for the creek running through Linn County.Linn County announced the name change on Friday afternoon. The county was notified by the U.S. Board of Geographic Names on Friday that the name-change request was approved and the new name was entered into the Geographic Names Information System, according to a news release.
