A Layton man who had with vision problems and an invalid driver’s license when he ran over and killed a small child last year has been sentenced to a year in jail. Aaron Joe Burlison, 26, pleaded guilty last month to second-degree felony manslaughter in connection with the July 27, 2015, death of 18-month-old Lexie Smith. A misdemeanor marijuana possession charge was dismissed as part of a plea deal, according to court records.
