WALDEN, Vt. (AP) — Vermont State Police say they're investigating the death of a New Hampshire man whose body was found about ¼ mile from his rental car. Authorities say they received a report Sunday morning of an abandoned vehicle in Walden. An investigation revealed the vehicle was rented to 60-year-old Don Pope of Kingston, N.H. State police say search and rescue teams combed the area and found Pope's body about ¼ mile from his rental car. Authorities say it appears he died of exposure, but a state medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death. Pope was recently the subject of a welfare check in New Hampshire, and in light of his abandoned vehicle, Vermont State Police launched a full-scale search.Read more on NewsOK.com
