A puppy is traveling north from Virginia to her new home in Maine Sunday, thanks to the Bangor Police Department. Two Bangor officers, who escorted a Wreaths Across America trip to Arlington National Cemetery this weekend, picked up the puppy at the request of a Waldoboro woman who contacted the department with a request for help after learning about the Washington, D.C., trip. The puppy, a 14-week-old border collie named Tessa, was adopted by the Waldoboro woman who had no way of transporting the canine to Maine before Christmas. Lt.
