Walgreens Boots Alliance has received regulatory approval to buy 1,900 Rite Aid stores from the Pennsylvania-based drugstore chain for $4.4 billion. The deal will make Walgreens (NASDAQ: WBA) the country's largest retail pharmacy by store locations – putting the Deerfield, Illinois-based company ahead of CVS and other rivals. The sale agreement was modified ahead of the Federal Trade Commission granting approval.
