Sales tax collections for the May reporting period were down 2.9 percent from the same month in 2015, Doug Dowler said. With hearings on the 2016-17 budget beginning Tuesday, Dowler said some easing is expected after a year of mostly down results. "Our expectation for next fiscal year is that we have seen the worst of this downturn," he said, "and we are projecting slight growth of about 1 percent for sales tax next year.Read more on NewsOK.com
