Roughly 200 people were lined up at 7:30 a.m. outside the Italian Heritage Center in Portland for Wednesday’s open casting call for the popular ABC reality show “Shark Tank.” The first 500 in attendance are guaranteed the opportunity to give a one-minute pitch for their business, product or idea to a member of the show’s production staff. Contestants on “Shark Tank” attempt to convince one of the show’s celebrity entrepreneurs to invest in their business. All those attending the casting call are pitching a variety of products for homes, businesses and schools.
