Though dialing a full 10-digit phone number may seem like an inconvenience, crisis intervention providers in the Corridor say that small sacrifice could make a huge difference in the life of someone in crisis. Starting in October, Iowa residents in the 319 and 515 area codes will have to dial all 10 digits of a phone number when making calls to make way for a new three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
