Something is happening to superhero movies. On average, they're getting less... superheroic. Films like Venom, Suicide Squad, Split, Glass and The Joker are putting the supervillains front and center, and the upcoming Superman allegory Brightburn goes one step further, turning superhero iconography on its head and making a "super" "boy" into a horror movie villain. These films raise an interesting question, which is what about the rest of the villains?
