$15m Valley Hi Nursing Home Refund To Go Up For Vote

A resolution to authorize a $15 million rebate of Valley Hi Nursing Home reserves to eligible taxpayers will be taken to a vote during the McHenry County Board’s April 16 meeting, board Chairman Jack Franks said. During a Committee of the Whole meeting Tuesday, Franks said this decision is one of the rare times when the County Board can have its cake and eat it, too. “We can rebate $15 million back to the taxpayers and not only leave Valley Hi with a very responsible two-year reserve, but we’re also going to be expanding its offerings, and to borrow another old phrase, this is a win-win for everyone,” Franks said. About 88,000 properties could qualify, Franks said.
