A McHenry man faces felony charges after police said he drunkenly hit a night club worker with his car and drove off. Authorities have charged 24-year-old Gerardo Vera with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of a crash involving personal injury. The most serious charge typically is punishable by between two and five years in prison. He also was cited with driving under the influence of alcohol, court records show. Vera is accused of striking a Club 220 North employee with his 1998 black Honda Civic on Sunday.
