With the support of a $24,000 grant from North Central Health Services, fire departments Tippecanoe County will distribute free smoke alarms to residents currently living without them starting Nov. 15. The goal, officials say, is to make sure that no one is killed in a fire because of a faulty or missing smoke alarm.
