2nd Campton Hills Ballot Challenge Continues

A Campton Hills man said he plans to file an updated challenge to the write-in candidacies of Village President Patsy Smith and three people on her slate. A judge Thursday dismissed a challenge submitted by James Newman without commenting on its meritst, but allowed him to file another complaint. Newman argues Smith's candidacy papers are invalid because they were turned into the interim village clerk at his home; opposing attorneys say Smith and her slate only needed to submit papers to Kane County Clerk Jack Cunningham.
