James Faron of Champaign, a retired optometrist who was a part-time bus driver in Chicago in the early 1970s, will replace another Champaign Republican, Jermaine Raymer, after earning county board approval. URBANA — After two unsuccessful attempts, Champaign resident James Faron has won a five-year appointment to the Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District Board.
