By Ubisoft’s own admission, Ghost War – Ghost Recon Wildlands’ PVP mode – was an afterthought, tacked onto the campaign rather than integrated from the start. In Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ghost War has been rebuilt from scratch alongside the rest of the game, taking onboard community feedback and lessons learned from Wildlands. Ghost War is still the same 4-vs-4 game mode at heart, but from the three hours I’ve played it already feels more satisfying, with a number of key improvements combining to make it feel superior to Wildlands in every way. Wildlands’ sprawling class system has been streamlined in favour of something simpler and more flexible.
