Many films and television shows require cars, trucks, emergency vehicles or even military vehicles as background traffic or as part of the action. The vehicles must match the location, era, and general atmosphere of the scene in question. Some companies specialize in collecting large numbers of specific types of vehicles, restoring them, and making them available to productions, often along with mechanic and/or driver services. There are also websites which collect listings of available individually-owned vehicles for a fee.
