Bookmark or ShareInfectious mononucleosis ( also called glandular fever, mono, or kissing disease ) is a common disease caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. It is most common in people between the ages of 15 and 25. Spread by kissing, sharing drinking glasses or utensils, the symptoms include fever, sore throat, and swollen lymph glands. Sometimes the spleen or liver also get inflamed.
