The College of Education was formed at the University of Saskatchewan in 1927. Previously, teacher education was a non-degree program, first taught at Normal School and then at Teacher's College.The College offers courses leading to a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.). Students may complete a 5-year combined Bachelor of Education/Bachelor of Music in Music Education or Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology/Bachelor of Education. The College also offers classes leading to certificates: Aboriginal Teacher Associate, Ecological Education, Methods of Teaching Heritage Languages, Post-Secondary Technical Vocational Education.
