Larnaca District is to the east, but Limassol district stretches round the coast westward to Paphos District, and northwards to Nicosia District. A small area of the district is still administered by the British as Akrotiri along the coast to the west of Limassol City, but the majority has remained administered by the Republic of Cyprus.
