Bookmark or ShareThe Brisbane Lions were formed at the end of 1996 as the result of a merger between the Brisbane Bears and the Fitzroy Lions. Home games are played at the GABBA in Brisbane, Queensland. The Lions won their first grand final against the Essendon Bombers in 2001.
