Accused Lawyer, On Video Played In Court, Tells Wife To Destroy Dvd

San Antonio lawyer Mark Benavides was shown in a police interrogation video played in a pre-trial hearing Thursday talking to a woman prosecutors identified as his wife and telling her she should “destroy” a certain DVD as detectives searched his house. Benavides, 47, has been indicted on 35 counts of various charges in a case that has grown in severity since his arrest in November, 2015 — having sex with a child under 17, inducing a child under 18 to engage in a sexual performance, compelling prostitution from at least nine of his clients, all female.
