According to The Hollywood Reporter, Academy-Award winning actress Tilda Swinton (“Michael Clayton”) is in talks with Marvel Studios to portray the mystical Ancient One in director Scott Derrickson’s (“Sinister”) film adaptation of “Doctor Strange”, starring Benedict Cumberbatch (“Star Trek into Darkness”). Recent reports suggested Marvel was looking at actors such as Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai”), Morgan Freeman (“Million Dollar Baby”), and Bill Nighy (“Underworld”) to portray the Ancient One but the studio opted to change genders for the role.
