An intergovernmental agreement between the Algonquin Township supervisor’s office and the highway department still is in the works weeks after the absence of one caused turmoil among officials – but Supervisor Charles Lutzow is hopeful an agreement soon will be finalized. “We’re optimistic the board will approve it at the [October] meeting,” Lutzow said, “presuming we’ll get the language figured out.” The IGA now is being negotiated between township attorney Jim Kelly and highway department attorney Robert Hanlon, Lutzow said.
