Akron school board member Dave Lombardi is the Summit County GOP’s top recommendation to fill a judicial vacancy.The county party’s executive committee met Wednesday evening to recommend three candidates to submit to Gov. John Kasich to fill the opening left by Akron Municipal Judge Julie Schafer’s election last November to the 9th District Court of Appeals.Kasich will make the appointment.The committee’s other suggested candidates were: Jason Adams, a judicial attorney and magistrate for Summit County Judge Christine Croce; and Carrie Roush, a judicial attorney for Summit County Judge Tom Parker.Adams previously has run for office, while Rousch has not, said Bryan Williams, who chairs the party’s executive committee.Lombardi was elected to the school board in 2013 and previously had run for other positions.
