Former Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore won’t be attending the Democratic national convention, but he went on Twitter to say that he’ll vote for Hillary Clinton in November. Gore, who served as vice president under Bill Clinton, spoke at the 2004 and 2008 conventions but skipped the 2012 gathering. In November, he told PEOPLE that it was “still too early” to endorse a candidate. In a series of tweets Monday, Gore backed Clinton in part because of her position on climate change, a major issue for him. I am not able to attend this year’s Democratic convention, but I will be voting for Hillary Clinton.
