ALGONQUIN - Organizers canceled Algonquin Founders' Day Festival for the first time in 57 years because of record flooding of the Fox River, which has affected Algonquin and other local towns. The initial plan had been to move the four-day festival to Algonquin Lakes. However, on Saturday, the event was canceled. "As our community is aware, the Fox River just has not cooperated," organizers said in a statement.
