Algonquin Township Trustee Melissa Victor has filed to run for a seat on the Cary Park District board – a move that could force her to resign her current position should she win and the offices are not compatible. Victor has been in contact with township attorney James Kelly to find out whether she legally could hold positions in both Algonquin Township and the village of Cary. If the offices are not compatible, Victor said, she is willing to give up her chair in Algonquin Township with a victory. "I'm prepared to do that," Victor said. "We're looking into it," Kelly said. Victor has served the past four years on the Cary Park Foundation board and is the current vice president. She now is running for one of two six-year terms on the Cary Park District board with Cary residents Michael Murphy and Phil Stanko.
