Amazon marked its 20th anniversary as a publicly traded company on Monday — and Chief Executive Jeff Bezos has plenty to celebrate. The stock closed Monday at $957.97, which means the Web giant has gained 48,776 percent from May 15, 1997 — the day of its $18 a share initial public offering.
