SANAA, Yemen (AP) — A member of Yemen special forces says an American and a Briton being held by al-Qaida were among those intended to be rescued in a raid on a cave but were moved out before the operation. A senior U.S. defense official say the raid involved American commandos. Eight hostages — including a Saudi— were liberated in the joint American-Yemeni raid in an al-Qaida safe haven in eastern Yemeni province early hours Tuesday, according to American and Yemeni officials.
