Lee Anderson, the former state representative and one-time congressional nominee, took first place in voting Tuesday for the Republican nomination to an open state Senate seat, forcing him into a runoff with second-place finisher Greg Grzybowski. Incumbent Sen. Jesse Stone, R-Waynesboro, easily won re-election over challenger Stephen Hammond, 77 percent to 23.
